Marshall Tucker Band headlines 2008 Festival
A true Southern rock legend will be the climax of the 2008 Founder's Day Festival. The Marshall Tucker Band will be making their first appearance in Rockwall as the festival's headline act.
Compared to Southern rock pioneers and label-mates The Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band has more of a country and western feel. "Can't You See", "Fire on the Mountain", and "This Ol' Cowboy" are among their songs that received appreciable FM radio airplay.
"Heard It in a Love Song" made it to #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977.
The band still plays up to 150 shows in a year, and released their new album, "The Next Adventure," on Ramblin Records in June 2007.

From their first LP in 1973 to their powerful stage presence today, the Marshall Tucker Band has played countless concert venues around the world. The good ol’ boys from Spartanburg, South Carolina remain a powerful force in the world of music.
“The buying public never really cared whether we were country or rock and roll,” says founding member Doug Gray.
“They called us a Southern rock band, but we have always played everything from country to blues and all things in-between. We’re still playing all of the classic songs, but we are moving ahead into other styles as well.”
Don't miss this chance to see a legendary band live in Rockwall!
